I'm trying to wean Daniel from his binky. Right now he only uses it for sleeping, and has for a few months now. But, I want him to be off it by the time the baby comes, so I'm starting now - before he gets too attached. I've been puting him down every once in a while without it, and he usually does pretty good. Yesterday I put him down for nap after church and he went to sleep without it just fine. But I put him down for a nap last night without it, and he just cried and cried and cried, so he didn't get a second nap. I gave in and gave it to him for bed last night. This afternoon I didn't give it to him for his nap, and he cried for a little while, but went to sleep finally. He does better without it when he's really tired. Last night I went in to check on him before we went to bed and he was still under his covers - which never happens. He's usually curled up on top of them, snuggled into them. He must have been very tired.
He has four molars starting to poke through now. You can only see one of them, but you can feel all four. He hasn't been as grumpy lately as he had been a couple of weeks ago, so that's good. These four bring his total up to 12. He'll have a mouthful before too long. We're still hoping he's walking by Halloween. I don't want him crawling around in his cute costume.
