Tantrum Juice

Daniel is definitely two, in attitude if not by the calendar. Case in point, tonight at the art festival. I bought a snowcone to keep him entertained while I fed Jack. Of course, I meant for all of us to share it, and obviously he can't eat it without some help. So Gary was holding the cup and attempting to give Dan some on a straw. Dan, of course, wanted to be in control and started screaming when Gary wouldn't let him. He was just screaming and bawling because we wouldn't let him have his way. We just let him scream until he calmed down and asked "Please" then he let Gary give him some on the straw. After the next (shorter) round of tantrum wound down, we let him hold the cup and drink the juice from the straw. After that, he had a hard time letting it go long enough for us to get some, but he was quite pleased with the fact that he was holding the cup. We said we should call snowcones "Tantrum Juice." He has put on shows like that on a few prior occaisions, but hopefully soon he will realize that they don't work, and give up. He really is a sweet little boy, he just thinks he should be the boss and we all know that Papa is the boss of Dan and Mama is the boss of Papa.
On a side note, I was looking at some of the early posts on the blog from when we were in Arizona. Dan looks so much like a baby in those pictures! He has changed SO much in a year. He is growing up so fast and is becoming a friendly, happy, outgoing kid. We love him so much. It will be so fun when he and Jack can interact more and play together. Dan likes to hold Jack. He'll climb up next to me on the couch when I'm feeding him and ask (in his own Dan-ese way) to hold the baby. He loves his brother.
The second photo is of Jack - "Jack-in-a-box." We put him in a box the other day so we could weigh him and Tyler and compare. Jack weighed 20 ounces more!
