Jackson has figured out that he can get your attention by making noises. He was sitting in my lap last night, trying to get Gary to look over at him and he started to make these little coughing noises. It sounded like he was clearing his throat. It was so funny. He does it quite a bit and gets a huge grin every time it works.
Daniel and Gary have been reading Shel Silverstein poetry before bed lately. After each poem Gary will laugh loudy with a fake laugh and usually Daniel follows suit. A few nights ago after the ritual, Dan says "Silly Papa." Gary got a good laugh out of that. Tonight he was saying that after almost every poem. He loves to have his story before bed. We have a pretty set bedtime ritual with him - jammies, milk, story, prayer then to sleep.
We went to another concert at Liberty Park tonight. The Moab Community Dance Band played. We really enjoyed it. I was expecting more of a big band with brass and such, but this was a folk-type band. They had a wide range of instruments - two violins, a bass, a guitar, an armadillo (yes, you read that right), a steel guitar, a mandolin, a concertina, piccollo, wooden flute, conga drums & a guy who played the spoons. They played a lot of jigs, polkas, early American tunes and the like. It sounded a lot like Celtic music to me. It was great. Daniel had fun peeking around the chairs of those sitting in front of us and laughing when they said "Hi." He is a little ray of sunshine.
