3 Year Portraits

I took Daniel in Yesterday to get his 3 year pictures taken. It is unbelievable that he is 3 already! Time goes by so fast. I tried to register Dan for preschool this past week, but was too late. Evidently they held registration in May, so all of the 3-year old spots were taken. I guess he'll have to wait until next year & we'll have to do more at home.
I forgot to write about the ward picnic we had on Saturday. I have been recovering from the (full force) flu the boys gave me & just now thought about it. We had our summer picnic this past Saturday. The ward activities committee went all out & held a carnival - complete with kids games, face painting, volleyball & a horseshoe tournament. They even had carnival food: hamburgers, hot dogs (with all the fixins'), fresh popcorn & really great snow cones. Gary competed in the horseshoe tournament, the boys played games to their hearts content & Daniel had his cheeks painted with a basketball & "U." There was a great turn out, lots of people I hadn't seen at church, ever or in a long time.
I got a teaching partner for my Sunday School calling this past week. Her name is Jill Ball & she and her husband are fairly new in our ward. That is the thing about our ward - if you come the first few weeks you're in the ward, you'll get to speak in church & have a calling within a month. It will be nice to have to teach only every other Sunday again. I am now teaching the 12-13 year old class. It is all boys for the meantime, though I should have at least one girl in January. It is different than Gospel Doctrine. Not better or worse - just different.
