Skunked

We had quite the unpleasant awakening this morning. About 4 a.m. I woke up from a dream that involved a skunk. As I awoke, the stench from the dream (you know how real dreams can be) hadn't disappated! There was a rotten skunk odor coming through our heating vent. It seems that a little critter decided our basement made a cozy nest last night. Much to our dismay the house now reeks of skunk, hopefully it doesn't cling to us. We currently have an open space where our back foundation wall used to be, as we are replacing the old brick with cinder block. Gary boarded up all the openings (except a one-way escape hole) before he left on a business trip to Eugene, Oregon this morning. We have a critter control service coming sometime today to try & trap the little beastie. I only pray the smell goes away before bedtime. It is impossible to sleep with such a smell!

One has to wonder how such a rotten smell could possibly come from such a cute innocent face. I do not understand what Heavenly Father was thinking of when he combined the two. Hopefully, in the next life those little critters will have their own planet.
