So, Dan has a new trick. He has finally conquered his fear of getting down from the top bunk by himself. Now mind you, this was a fear we were sort of encouraging. Mostly because it kept him in bed at night time and at nap time. No longer I'm afraid. It's sad really. He isn't a toddler anymore, he is a little boy. His play is getting increasingly more imaginative. It is fun to watch. Lately he has been setting up "picnics" for his toys. The guest usually include a few books, the tractor with wagon (and animals and farmer!), the stacking blocks Granny made Jack for his birthday, and today there was his states and capitols puzzle. Too cute.
Jackson is slowly getting more vocal. He is getting a lot better at mimicking words we say. He still cries a lot when he doesn't get his way with just grunts and screams. We try to make him tell us in words what he wants. So mean, I know. I think it is working though.
I think, no I know, Evan is getting a cold. He has been increasingly congested the past two or three days and is beginning to develop a cough. He has been a little grumpy too - fiercely crying when I put him down. Luckily he is still sleeping well at night. I was thinking about walking to church tomorrow (yes, we live close enough!) but with his cold, I don't think we will.
We had a little family pizza party at Jeff and Shelly work tonight. It is Zeponie's pizza in Centerville. Good pizza, almost worth the 45 minute drive! The boys enjoyed seeing all the family and got their fill of pizza and root beer. Earlier in the day we told Dan we were having pizza for dinner and he talked about it all day long. He was excited. Tomorrow we are having Gary's brother Russ and his family over for dinner. Nothing fancy, just 'burger and 'dogs and potato salad. But we haven't seen them in a while and it will be fun to show them the new house.
I had my first sewing job this past week (aside from baby shoes). I repaired a harp bag for a lady. She is now going to have me sew her a new bag, to replace the one I just fixed. It really needs replacing though. It was ripped pretty significantly. And though I think my repair job will hold fine, it is really time for a new bag. Hopefully I'll get started on that next week. I also have a meeting with another prospective client on Tuesday. She is working on a new product and wants me to make some prototypes for her. One already has a pattern, the other I will attempt to sew from a drawing. It will be a good challenge. I have been sewing up more shoes. I'm kind of at a loss for decorating ideas for boys shoes. I have ribbons and flowers for the girls, but boys?? You'd think it would be easier, seeing as how I have three boys, but no. All I have come up with so far is a flame design. I did get some business cards ordered though. So now when people comment on Evan's cute shoes, or other things I have made, I can hand them a card.
I finally got curtains hung in our family room this weekend. It is amazing the difference they make in the ambiance of the room. It feels so much warmer and more comfy in there now.
Well, that's all for now. I guess I'll go check the Jazz score.

They Lost!!! Just thought I would save you the trouble. Trust me, that's all I've heard of the whole weekend. Craig's really disappointed. I could care less. I'm glad that your sewing thing is doing really well. If I had money to pay you, I'd have a lot of projects I'd love for you to do but right now is just not the time, not with moving, starting a business and having a baby. All of which take all my money. But I'm glad it's taking off. Good luck with all the projects!
You may be able to find some cute boy patches that you could sew on some of the shoes. I don't know where you would find them but it's just an idea. I agree that it is hard to find cute things for boys. I'm sending your sewing blog out to my family because I love those shoes and some of my cousins are having babies soon. I hope it goes well.
