Gary, the boys and I worked on putting in our vegetable garden yesterday. We planted carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, beets, radishes, beans, spinach, cucumbers and herbs. We still want to get some pepper plants and potato starts. I really don't know why we plant carrots - we've never ever gotten them to grow. I guess we're too stubborn to give up! Hopefully our yard now is better suited to a garden - it doesn't get a full blast of sun all day that the last house did. The back yard is actually quite nice in the evening. We have huge cottonwood trees behind our back fence that start shading the yard around 1 pm. So when it gets to be evening, it is nice and cool back there - at least 10 degrees cooler than the front yard. Last night we put Evan out on the grass on his gym in the shade while we worked and he happily played for a couple of hours (until he fell asleep).
Come and visit and you can enjoy it too!
In other Jones Family news, Gary became a great-uncle this last week for the twelfth time! His niece Julia had a little boy. We're still waiting on a name. Congrats!

Carrots!!! I forgot carrots and potatoes (although the last I didn't think would grow so late). Oh well, I figured I'm going to have to go to a nursery to find my raspberry bush anyway. Nice size garden. Hope your better at outdoor growing than I am. I'm great at indoor plants but suffer big time on outside. Let's cross our fingers!
What a darling picture of Evan! I love it! Good luck with the carrots! I wish we had a garden. Maybe I will start working on adding some space in this year so it will be ready for next year.
Wow, you must have a huge garden! I wish we could make our garden bigger, but I don't want to take up so much of the flat space we have in our backyard so Ty doesn't have to play on the hill.
I was showing him the picture of Evan and said, "look Ty! It's baby Evan!" and he started saying, "baby lovin, baby lovin!" It was cute :)
