Party Time!

We celebrated Daniel's birthday this weekend. His official birthday is tomorrow, July 22.
Saturday we had his "friends" party. We had 10 small children (plus parents) in our backyard. I am sure the entire neighborhood heard the happy shrieking. They had a blast in the swimming pools. Amazingly I actually got Dan and Jack to take an hours' nap before the party, so they had no shortage of energy. Daniel and his friends loved the cake and ice cream. When it was time to open presents we narrowly avoided a melt down by one of Daniel's friends. Luckily I had treat bags for the kiddos and gave them those while Dan opened his gifts. It must be hard to be a 4-year old and see someone else opening the toy that you picked out with your Mom - and that you can't have! Daniel got some fun toys - an R/C Lightning McQueen, a S.W.A.T. Hummer, Cars cars, matchbox cars, a coloring book & crayons, water balls, a Thomas movie... He got spoiled! I think all the kids had a fun time though. The party only lasted around 2 hours, which was what I was hoping for! It was great for Gary and I to see some friends we haven't seen in a while. Thanks for coming everyone!

Yesterday we had a family party for Daniel. We had 22 people here! We had BBQ beef sandwiches and lots of salads, fruit & potatoes (and cake and ice cream of course!) We all had fun visiting and Dan played with his new toys with his cousins. Once again he got spoiled when gift time came. He got more pieces for his wooden railway, a LeapPad, more matchbox cars, crayons, a coloring book & stickers, a big truck that makes noise, has lights & moves by itself, binoculars, a bag of gardening goodies (including rain boots which he loves!), Highlights magazines that are full of fun activities, and tools. He LOVES the tools. He had been hoping for tools for his birthday and was so excited to get them. He really likes the LeapPad too. I think he got really spoiled, but he enjoyed himself so much! Thanks everyone for making his birthday so special!

Thanks for the comments about the girls! Looks like you had a lot of fun for Daniel's party! Your boy are ADORABLE! How old are they? I know Evan is 6mos, but I don't know that I ever knew about your other boys. I'll check in often, so we can keep in touch since BBC is changing and Snowdrops kind of don't exist anymore.
