Happenings

This past Friday we took the boys to the Salt Lake County Fair. It was somewhat disappointing. There was only one building for exhibits and that was mostly full of vendors. The did have a couple of fun, free activities for the boys. They got to make magic wands and "milk" the fake cow. They were quite proud of their "I milked a cow at the Salt Lake County Fair" ribbons pinned to their shirts. They also enjoyed the petting zoo. I think Daniel is finally getting over his fear of livestock (and poultry).
Sunday night we invited my parents out for a tomato tasting party. We had tomatoes from five of our six varieties to try. Everyone's favorite was the Beefsteak. It was sweeter than the rest. The Celebrity tomatoes came in second. The biggest thus far have been the Heat Wave. The smallest have been the Heirloom Margolds (well, those and the pear tomatoes).
