I'd like to think that I am not a "compulsive" person. Though I had a reputation for perfectionism in high school (especially in art class), I prefer to think that now I'm pretty laid back. Nicol tagged me to list six compulsions. I had to think about it for a little while, but I think I came up with a couple.
1. I have to pick up the boys' toys and things before I go to bed. It helps put me in a better mood if the house isn't littered with their things first thing in the morning.
2. The boys' room is very organized. Each toy has a specific home. I have an almost obsessive compulsion to put things back where they belong and to not have all of the toys out at once. I am trying to teach the boys to put one toy away before they get another out.
3. All of the books on the boys' shelves are organized by fragility. The sturdier board books are within their reach, the ones with paper pages are on the next shelf up and the most fragile (pop-up books, ones with small parts, etc.) are on the next shelf up.
4. I like to have a place for everything, though I still have unpacked boxes from when we moved.
5. I like to cook, but only in a clean kitchen. My desire to cook depends on how clean the kitchen is.
6. I like to have the boys pictures taken professionally at certain intervals: Birth, three months, six months, nine months, a year, 18 months, 2 years, then every year after that. I only get them taken at certain studios though - I'm picky about what I like.
There! I knew I could come up with six. I tag Shelly, Becky, Emlyn and who ever else wants to do it!
