Evan is sporting a new set of blue whiskers. This afternoon he fell and split his chin open on our brick fireplace surround. I was balancing the checkbook in the other room & only heard him scream. I called Gary home from work so I could take him to the PCMC emergency room. Luckily they weren't very busy and we got right in. He was really good for the nurses and doctor. He didn't cry at all when they gave him the Versed to anesthetize him. The nurse said usually the kids hate it because they squirt it up their nose and it stings. They also said he would probably scream when they wrapped him up burrito-style to clean & stitch the cut. Nope. He didn't make a sound as they wrapped him and actually giggled as they stitched him up. What a trooper! They only fuss he made was when the post-procedure popsicle was gone. Then he threw a fit. He ended up with 6 stitches. He also made it home with a new Beanie Baby, courtesy of the nurses. He has been doing fine tonight. The irony of the whole thing is that it was his second trip to the doctor today. He had his 15-month check this morning. I am sure his pediatrician will find it humorous. So, Evan is the first of the boys to have unintentional stitches. He was the first to have intentional stitches too - when he had his thumb surgery. Lucky kid?
He wasn't too sure of the doctor at first.
Giggling while they washed the cut out.
Being sewn up by Dr. Plumb.
The post-procedure popsicle.

Poor Evan! I know it wasn't much, but I almost puked when I saw the blood on his shirt! I think Ty is invisible. He has had some pretty bad falls, but always comes out with just a bruise, lol!
