Easter has already come and gone. I can't believe it! I swear Christmas was just last week... Time sure flies when you have little ones.
We had a nice Easter weekend at home. Gary had Friday off of work, and I didn't have my daycare kids, so we got a 3-day weekend. We decided to potty train Evan this weekend. It didn't go well. After 3.5 days in underpants, with only two or three successful drips into the toilet, we have decided he isn't ready yet. I didn't put him back in cloth diapers though - I went back to disposables. My main reasoning is that I think he got conditioned to feeling wet with the cloth. So when he wet the underpants, it wasn't a surprise, or uncomfortable, for him. I'm hoping to de-sensitize him to that and we'll try again in a few months. He also showed no interest in the whole potty concept. Maybe when he is a little older he'll want to be like his brothers and go on the potty.
This weekend was also General Conference. I am grateful that we have On Demand though, so Gary and I can go back and watch the talks at night without the constant interruptions of little boys. I downloaded Conference activity packets for the boys from Scriptures for Kids. I gave them to the boys during the last session. I guess I should have brought those out earlier because Daniel really got into the Conference Bingo and the other two had a good time coloring.
Saturday morning Gary took Dan and Jack to the Easter egg hunt at our church. They each came home with a dozen, or so, eggs and shared with Evan because he was home potty training.
We decorated eggs on Saturday afternoon. The boys were very happy that I bought them a Marvel superhero egg coloring kit. What would I do if I had a girl who didn't like boys stuff? LOL
Easter Sunday we celebrated with family. In the morning the boys found their baskets from the Easter Bunny and had consumed all the candy by lunch time. Good thing the Easter Bunny didn't put too much in there! They also each got a dragon egg, from How to Train Your Dragon, and played all day with their dragons.
We had Susan and my parents over to watch the last session of Conference, then after we had a great ham dinner with them and Shelly's family. Then, as the boys had anticipated all day, we had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I am so glad the weather cooperated!
The kids had lots of fun finding goodies and each family got a DVD copy of "Alice in Wonderland" from Grandma & Grandpa Johnson. As Dan says, they all got "sugar loaded" yesterday!
They weren't too happy when we put the remainder of their goodies up for later distribution. In the long run they'll be happy to still have Easter candy a week from now, right? They were mightily disappointed when I wouldn't let them have candy for breakfast this morning though. What a hard life!

Gosh is Evan really old enough to be potty trained? I can't believe how fast they grow!
Wow, what a fun weekend!! Those boys of yours are pretty darn adorable. Good luck with the upcoming potty training - and convincing the boys they don't need candy for breakfast! :)
