Memorial Day 2010

This past weekend we headed up to visit Gary's brother Keith and his family in Caldwell, Idaho. We arrived Friday afternoon and left Monday morning. It was a great weekend. We didn't do anything major - just relaxed and played games, watched movies and enjoyed their company.

The boys wore themselves out every day playing with the girls.

That was good - that way they didn't keep each other awake when bedtime came and they were sleeping all together like this:

Keith & Kathy took the girls to Jackson for their summer jobs on Monday. While they were showing the girls how to change a tire the boys and I played with the giant frisbee & took some photos.

I learned how to play a couple of new games. I learned Farkle (fun!), Cathedral (must get that game!) and bocce. We played bocce in the park next door. Of course, the boys had to join the fun. Daniel used an old baseball instead of a bocce ball.
Evan really took to Aunt Kathy. She loved tickling him and he loved being tickled & chased.

Sunday evening we went for a little walk & Jackson was playing around with Uncle Keith. Keith grabbed the back of Jackson, Jack's legs went up and he face-planted into the road. The blood came gushing, Jackson was near hysterical & we hurried him back to the house. We ended up calling a doctor in the neighborhood, and he came and glued Jackson's cut back together, saving us a trip to the hospital for stitches. I'm beginning to think a Jones family vacation isn't complete until someone splits their head open!
On the way home we stopped at the Malad River Gorge. It was pretty neat. I loved all the black rock and how it contrasted with the green plants & white water.

I only drove through but I thought it was pretty. Can't believe how big Evan's getting. Cute pics!

That does look like it was a nasty fall! Poor guy. I'm glad you didn't have to go to the hospital. It looks like it was a fun trip for you {aside from that falling incident!}. I just love the pics of your boys!
