First Tooth Fairy Visit

Daniel lost his first tooth last night. It has been loose for at least a week and I guess Gary thought it was time for it to come out. I found him in the bathroom with Daniel, trying to pull it. (In his defense, it really was ready.) After a couple botched attempts, Daniel was bleeding and I think Gary was getting frustrated. Daniel was a trooper though - didn't cry a bit. I think he actually thought the whole experience was pretty cool. Since the tooth wasn't coming out and it was bedtime, I went in with a bit of tissue , twist and pull, and it's out. My fingers are just small enough for pulling kids teeth. Good to know. Daniel was thrilled. So much so that it was hard for us to get him to keep the tissue in his hole to sop up the remnants of blood. He happily posed for pictures, we put the tooth in a plastic baggie, then off to bed he went, happy as a toothless clam.

He almost forgot to check under his pillow this morning when I got him up for school. He was quite pleased to find two quarters left in place of the tooth. He's already planning how he'll spend it.

Good job - I agree - it was well over due for coming out. Grandma
