Two Months Old

Jared is two months old tomorrow. He is such a joy to have in our home. Here is a bit about Jared at two months:
He is smiling. This morning he gave Gary the biggest smiles when Gary bent down and talked to him while Jared was in Granny's arms. It was so cute. He really studies your face if you are holding him, so he recognizes us and his brothers. I'm still trying to catch a good smile on camera, but he just stares very seriously at the camera when I try to get his picture. This is the best one I have, taken with my cell phone camera:

He can see more clearly and is very observant. He tries to copy the motions our mouths make and is exploring making sounds of his own. He has learned that making noise gets him attention.
He loves his swing that has lights and music, though it is in poor repair at the moment thanks to a certain biggest brother. He also likes to gaze out the window and watch the ceiling fans.

He will also tolerate being in his play gym for short periods of time, especially when a brother is playing with him.

He still has awake days and sleepy days. Overall he is awake more during the day. And, very importantly, he has discovered that nighttime is for sleeping. Once he is asleep he will sleep pretty well through the night. I usually only have to get up two or three times to feed him.

He is gaining weight like a champ. His check-up isn't until tomorrow, but Gary and I weighed him the other night and we think he is about 12 lbs.
Jared's blessing is this Sunday. We are in the midst of renovations upstairs. We are painting every room on the main floor except our bedroom and the bathrooms. I am hoping it is done by Sunday - it has to be! I will post before & after pictures of the project when we're done. Jared is pretty good about cooperating.

I traded some cookies a few months ago for a necklace. I finally ordered it a week or two ago and it came last week. I love it!

He is a beautiful baby. I love that photo of him smiling! Baby smiles are about the most precious things a parent can ever witness. Good luck getting all your painting and everything done! You have been a busy woman! I hope you can have a relaxing day when it and the weekend is all over!
