Jared passed the three-month mark this past Saturday. Time goes by so fast - I swear he was just born yesterday. He continues to be a happy baby and brings our family much happiness. A lot of times when he wakes up in the morning he will lay in his cradle and make happy, cooing sounds. If that doesn't get our attention, then he'll start crying. For the most part he is a happy little guy. He is smiling in full force now. He has learned that if he smiles at someone, they will smile at him, and will reciprocate when someone smiles at him. He smiles a lot! I got the first real laughs out of him this past Friday. It was so cute, but he hasn't laughed since then. When he is happy he kicks and moves his arms, it's like his whole body is happy. See a video of him here. He sure is a cutie!
In the past month Jared was blessed by his Papa. We had lots of family come and support us!
We also took him swimming for the first time at an indoor pool. He liked it for about the first half an hour, then he got cold and spent the rest of the time sleeping in his carseat. He is also starting to try and play with toys. He will wave his hands at the toys that dangle from his play gym. He is also getting very good at getting his hands to his mouth. The other night he grabbed my finger and put it in his mouth to suck on. He didn't like my finger much, but loves to suck on his own fists.
He is growing like a weed. I think he is getting chubbier every day! He finally fits into the hat Aunt Shelly made him. I hope it still fits come winter time!
We finally set up his crib in the boys' room. I haven't started him sleeping in there yet, but he does like to lay there and watch his mobile. I also put him in the Bumbo seat for the first time. He is good at holding his head up when he is on his tummy, not so much in the Bumbo yet.
I took the boys to Bear Lake for the Price Family Reunion this past weekend. Jared was so spoiled - I don't think he was set down once all day on Saturday! He had plenty of bonding time with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Suzy, Uncle Greg and other family members!
Jared's sleeping patterns are getting better too. He will usually only wake two times during the night. He still takes a couple of long naps during the day. Sometimes I can lay him down in the cradle and he'll go to sleep on his own. Sometimes he wants to be rocked to sleep. I don't mind rocking him to sleep. I'll take it as long as he wants it. He rarely sleeps with us anymore, though I do lay him in bed with me in the mornings sometimes after Gary has left for work.
I took the boys to get their pictures taken on Friday. These are Jared's 3-month portraits.
