Four Months Old

Jared is four months old! Actually, he is almost four and a half months old. This entry is a bit late. He continues to be a source of joy in our home. He is such a happy little guy, and is a good baby. He is very smiley (unless he is hungry, tired or needs a change). A lot of times he'll smile at someone, then when they smile back, he'll grin and turn away. Silly boy.

He is getting to the point where he can roll over from his back to his side, and has even gone all the way to his tummy a couple of times. His neck is very strong and he lifts his head like a pro when he is on his tummy. He can scoot on his back some, though I don't think it is deliberate. He does move around quite a bit when playing in his gym though.
He is a pretty vocal baby. He loves it when people speak to him by mimicking the sounds he makes. That is usually a good way to make him laugh. He is also very ticklish, so that gets a good giggle too. I love the sound of him "talking" to his toys or laughing. It makes me smile.

At his 4-month checkup last week he weighed just an ounce shy of 15 pounds. He has chub in all the right places and is so cute. I still call him "chub chub."
We took him on his first camping trip this month. He did really well, though he did catch a cold. He loves to be outside and look at the trees. It was a little hard keeping the bugs and sun off him since he is too young for sunscreen or bug repellant, but we managed.

I also took him to Utah Fan Fest for the first time. I don't know how much he enjoyed it, but his brothers had fun. He will enjoy it more the older he gets.
