Six Years Old

Jackson turned six a couple of weeks ago. Six! He is such a happy, energetic boy. He may be small, but he makes up for it in spirit.
We had his family party the weekend of his birthday. The boy LOVES Legos, so I made him a Lego cake. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. In reality, it was a pretty lame cake. But he was happy to get some new Lego mini-figures.

He also got 2 Lego games, two Lego shirts, another game, money for his savings account and a gift card to 5 Guys Burgers and Fries that we used for his birthday dinner out.

We had his friends party the following weekend. We had lots of fun with lots of very energetic kids. (It was SO loud!) He has his friends had a blast though. We played Lego bingo, colored Lego coloring pages, played a Lego relay game, and of course had cupcakes, ice cream and opened presents. He got Legos and Beyblade. He was so excited. All in all, he had a great birthday!

Daniel turns 7

Daniel turned 7 on the 22nd. How on Earth did he get to be that old? I can't be old enough to have a 7-year old! We celebrated on the big day with gifts and by going out to eat at Dee's (his choice).

That Sunday we had family over for a birthday party, complete with a MarioKart birthday cake. He got two Wii games, and was super excited about the one he got from Nana - you can watch his reaction here. He also got lots of books and money for his savings account.

After gifts and cake we lit fireworks. It was a great party. Thanks to all who came!

Eccles Dinosaur Park

For Daniel's birthday we took the boys up to the Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden on Saturday, July 23. They had a minerals, gems, etc. inside the small museum along with dinosaur skeletons and an animatronic scene of dinosaurs. The boys wouldn't go near the moving dinosaurs - they were too scared, even though the robots were behind a fence.

Outside there were dozens of dinosaur statues along winding paths. It was nice and shady, I didn't have to worry about Jared getting too much sun. The boys loved seeing all the dinosaurs and walking down the paths and trails. There were even statues in the ponds.

They got a big kick out of the photo op boards where they could stick their faces through and have their photos taken. They also loved the playground.

It was a fun day with the boys, and the park is worth the drive - especially if you can find a good deal like we did on CityDeals.

Jack's birthday, part 2

Yesterday we had Jack's family party at our house. We had cake and ice cream, visited & opened presents. He got lots of Star Wars toys, which he LOVES. He also got some new clothes, which are always needed and appreciated with 4 boys!

Today was his actual birthday. He took cupcakes to school and came home with a new book. We had a couple more gifts for him to open & I rented Megamind for the boys to watch. Plus, Gary had the day off so that is always a good thing. Happy Birthday Sparky!
