Dan and I went swimming today with his friend Max Christiansen and his mom Naomi. We all enjoyed it. Max learned how to go down the slide by himself and Dan practiced his standing and took his first steps. I call them pseudo first steps, because he was mostly underwater taking them. He loved being able to have that little bit a of freedom. He didn't just walk - he looked like he was running! He could only go three or four steps before his body got ahead of his legs, but to me, it was walking. I think that when he really does learn to walk outside of the pool, he'll just take off and run. None of that toddling bit for him. Dan got a kick out of being able to walk. It gave him good practice at keeping his balance. Maybe if we go back to the pool a few more times and practice some more he'll start to want to do it outside of the water. Let's hope so - he's getting heavy!
This weekend is General Conference. They are showing all of the sessions at our ward building. We can't get it on TV unless we have Dish Network, which we don't. We're going to try and go to all of the sessions, but we're still trying to figure out what to do with Dan to keep him entertained. I think we'll just have to get a seat in the cultural hall and let him crawl. And bring snacks and toys. Unfortunately mot of his favorite toys make noise, so well have to bring something quieter, like his Noahs Ark set.
I bought some fabric today to make me another pair of pajama pants. My belly is growing, so they are some of the few pairs of pants I have that fit right now. I'm determined not to wear my maternity clothes until we get back to Utah though. (Almost all of them are in Idaho, so that helps my resolve.)
