First steps

Daniel took his first steps last night. Gary was walking him into the living room from the bedroom, Dan holding onto his fingers. I stood in front of him a foot or so off and held my hands out. Dan let go of Garys hands and came the few (2-3) steps to me on his own. I think the momentum of having already been walking helped him some, but it was still exciting. I can't believe how big he is already and how grown up he's geting. He is definitely a little boy now, not a baby.
Dan learned a new word today - duck. He was feeling the different furs on his "Touch and Feel" baby animals book and I was telling him the names of the animals. When we got to the ducks, I said it and he repeated it back so well - "Duck." He'll say it when you do.
He was making us laugh last night by smashing his face against the sliding glass door while we were outside cutting Garys hair. Here is a link to the video clip:
