We are boxing everything up for our move back to Utah. We had a garage sale at a friends house this Saturday and got rid of all of our furniture that we had aquired down here. So we're sleeping on an air mattress for a few nights. It isn't too bad, anything is better than the floor. The boxes are piling up in our living room where our couch used to be. I think we've got the majority packed. The apartment manager is coming to inspect the place on Wednesday afternoon. We'll be cleaning that morning, I think. The apartment isn't very dirty so it shouldn't take us too long. Dans likes to explore what we're putting into boxes. He likes to take things out of one box and put them in another. He likes to take things out and put them back in the same box too. He'll do that with his Noahs Ark set - take out some animals, then put them all back in. His favorite is to take one out and hold it up for me to tell him what it is, then put it back and get another one and repeat the action. He is such a cute kid.
Our baby is getting more active. Gary felt him/her move for the first time on Saturday night. He still calls the baby a she. I would love to have a girl, but I really think it is a boy. Hopefully we'll find out soon. I have a doctors appointment in SLC a week from today.
Dan is getting more sure on his feet. If he's not paying attention, he can stand on his own for 5-10 seconds, but drops to the floor when he realizes what he's doing or wants to get someplace. He'll take a few steps now and then. I'm sure it isn't long before he figures out that walking is better than crawling. I will probably need to buy him another pair of long pants when we get back to Utah. He has a few, but they get dirty very fast when he's crawling around the floor, the playground, etc. Faster than the laundry gets done. :) It will be nice to be in a house again that has its own washer and dryer. Going to the laundry room and paying $2 a load gets old really quick.
We should be back in SLC on Friday evening. We're stopping over in St. George at Gary's parents house Thursday night. Hopefully all will go well and we'll all drive safe. One of my major concerns is how Dan is going to handle the trip. On the way down he slept most of the way, but I don't think that will be happening on the way back. I have music to play for him and I'll have to bring toys to keep him occupied. I hope that Dad's back is better and he can handle the long drive as well. We'll be ure to make plenty of stops along the way for both of them.
