A worthwhile trip

Gary and I got back from St. George yesterday night. It turned out to be a worthwhile trip. Gary went in for his interview with St. George Monday morning at 8:30 am and at around 10 they called and offered him the position. He will be a Plan Review Specialist with the new development office. I think he is excited about the job and I am too. He will be looking over building plans and making sure they are up to code. He may even get to go out to job sites now and then. One of the guys he interviewed with said that the city has really good benefits. It is such a relief for him to have a good job. He starts on January 2nd. We spent the rest of Monday looking for a place to live. The housing market in St. George is nuts!! There almost no properties in need of repair (fixer-uppers) and everything is so expensive! We looked at one really nice condo that rents for $1000/mo. in west St. George. Condos in the same development sell for $275K. It is crazy. There is almost nothing below $170K. We did find a townhouse in Hurricane we think we will probably rent. It is brand new in a subdivision called Sky Mountain. It is 3 bed/2 bath with a 2 car garage. I really like it and it is in a neighborhood that we think will have lots of families. So all in all it was a good trip, even though Dan was very tired of being in the car by the time we got home last night. Papa found a job!
