This and That

Jack is getting ever so close to crawling. He is constatly getting up onto his hands and knees and rocking. He knows if he can just figure it out, it is a much better way to get around that rolling. Sometimes Daniel gets down next to him and tried to show him how it works. Jack looked like he took one or two crawl "steps" last night. Most of the time he just sccot backwards. It is so exciting, and at the same time I know we are in for a big change once he gets this crawling thing down.
Jack now has six teeth in various stages of growth. His front bottom two have been in for a couple of months. The top for started showing through this past week. From a short distance you can see the top two on the left side. They are out about a third of the way - it makes him look like a hillbilly! The other top two are just starting to get past the gumline.
Both boys are fighting a cold this week. Jackson has had it since last week, and gave it to Daniel. Jack has has a bad cough, runny nose, chest congestion & has been very tired. Today he had a new symptom - he woke up hoarse! Poor kid. It is so heart-wrenching to listen to him try to cry. Daniel is just starting to get the cough, congestion & runny nose. Hopefully it won't hit him as hard as it has hit little Jack.
I did take the boys to get flu shots yesterday. It was okay if they had colds, as long as they didn't have a fever. They both cried, of course (even I want to cry after a flu shot), but Dan was fine and dandy after he got a sucker from the nurse. Jack was fine after he got some snugglin'.
Hooray for the early holiday displays at the grocery store! I finally got some Andes mints (which I have been in search of for weeks). Mmmm...
As the holiday season approaches (or is it already here?) Daniel has discovered the toy catalogues. Are we sure he is only two?
