Happy Birthday Tiny Ty!

Yesterday was my nephew Tyler's 1st birthday. Dan & I went to his party at his house. He wasn't all that into opening gifts, but was all over the cake. He had his fingers in it before we even finished singing to him. Tyler is still tiny - less than 15 lbs. He is doing all the things a normal-sized kid his age would do, it is just amusing to see such a tiny guy doing them.
Gary & Jack didn't come because they both caught the little virus Daniel had last week. 1 am Sunday morning Jackson woke up crying. Now, this wasn't his usual "I'm awake, but if you don't come get me I'll go back to sleep" - gentle crying. This was "Help! I think I'm dying!" - loud & panicked crying. Gary went to check on him and he had vomited all over his bed (and his face). So we cleaned him up and he went right back to sleep. Daniel, on the other hand, slept through the whole thing. He didn't even flinch went Jack was crying, or when we turned on the lights and changed Jacksons bedding. Amazing! Gary didn't start showing symptoms until last night. We decided it was better if he and Jack stayed home to avoid sharing germs with the entire family. (I stayed home with Jack during church so we wouldn't share the germs with our Ward family.)
In the wonderful world of Utah weather - we have had an arctic cold snap the past week or so. The high today was 19F. The high! The low was 4F, yesterday is was -1F. Brrr! Too cold for my blood, and for our kitchen plumbing evidently. The cold water in our kitchen was frozen all day yesterday and half of today. My parents water froze yesterday during the day. Not at night like you'd think, but during the day. Crazy! We are all leaving our faucets running a little until it warms up a bit.
