By request, a house update

Elizabeth asked for an update on the house, so here you go. As of tomorrow, our inspection period ends. Technically we haven't gotten a final, signed, purchase contract so I think we have a little leeway there. We did get the house inspection done on Monday though. There are some issues, but nothing too major (we hope). We are still waiting on some answers to questions - our agent is having a really hard time getting a hold of the selling agent. The property is still listed on the MLS, even though we are this far into the deal. At times I wonder if the bank really cares in the slightest about this property. So, the process is moving forward. We have met with a lender to get our financing application going, and crossing our fingers that the interest rate doesn't go up (again!) before we get our rate locked in. Our closing date is set at March 15, but we're hoping to move it to the 12th (the owner is still under the impression that it is on March 7.) Maybe the bank will get their act together by then.

Thank you!! Aren't banks and the whole buying process frustrating? Hopefully if anything with interest happens, it'll drop again before your rate is locked in and you can save a bit!

What's the MLS on the house ... I'd love to see it!

It sounds like things are making improvements. It is so frustrating when things are in the hands of other people. Good Luck.
