My Seventies Child

I was working on the invitations for Dan's birthday party tonight and he came in and asked me to read the words to him. As I read each line he got more and more excited. He was practically shaking with excitement! When I was done he ran off telling Papa all about the Jungle Swim Party he was going to have. He told him he was going to have ice cream, cake, presents, party hats, balloons, party blowers and a disco ball. A disco ball? I have no idea where that came from! I laughed out loud when I heard that.
I have decided that it was a good thing that we bought a kitten and not an older cat. I think Macy is a lot more patient with the boys than an older cat would have been. She has found places to hide where the boys can't get to her, and the boys are learning (albeit slowly) to be gentle with her. Jack is still rough with her at times and both boys like to carry her around (which we discourage). She does use her claws to defend herself when absolutely necessary, but the boys have escaped any major scratches thus far. I thought I'd share a photo of Jack "playing" with Macy today.
