We took the boys to Hogle Zoo this morning for our annual trip for their Military Appreciation Days. They both loved it. Jackson learned lots of new animal words. I think even Evan enjoyed being outside in the stroller. He is such a nature boy.
Right inside the gate they had a "meet and greet" with a bald eagle. Dan was a little scared of it, but I think he still thought it was neat.
The boys were actually very good about staying with us, which is good because I forgot their harnesses. Here's Papa holding Jack up for a better view.
Our traditional picture on the tiger statue outside Asian Highlands.
The leopard kept pacing back and forth in this window, licking his chops. It didn't scare the boys at all - they would laugh every time it passed by (which is what Dan is doing here.)
We let the boys ride the Conservation Carousel and the Zoofari Express train. They LOVED the carousel and cried when their turn was over. Daniel has been talking all day about getting to ride on the gorilla.
We all got a close-up view of a few animals who were close to their windows. The above-mentioned leopard was one, as were the rhinos, gorillas, possum, and a few other small animals.
I told you Evan enjoyed himself! Just look at that contented smile.
