I really do love the fall. I love the cooler temperatures, the bright leaves, fresh produce from the garden, walking Dan to school and Halloween. This Saturday I decided that it wasn't too early to start decorating for fall/Halloween. I brought out my few Halloween decorations and made a few new ones. The boys made some pumpkins for our dining room windows and I cut out a black cat garland (hanging above the door to the boys room), and some black paper mouse silhouettes (scattered about our base boards and the living room windows). I decorated the buffet with some a fall leave garland, my jack-o-lantern candle and two ceramic ghost tealight (candle) holders. I think the decorating is coming along nicely, though I still have a couple of things planned to make. I am going to make a spider web curtain for our front door side window and candy corn garlands for the entryway & dining room light fixtures. I really want to have a Halloween party, but it probably won't happen. The boys like the decorations though. Now I just have to decide on costumes and get my bum in gear! I am very tempted to dress Dan & Jack in last years' costumes (pirates). I am pretty sure they still fit. If I can get into a sewing mood I might have them be something else, we'll see. I am sure they won't care.
Speaking of fresh produce, we have carrots! Our garden actually produced a few carrots of edible size this year. Here are Dan and Jack with the proof (which they promptly ate after washing them).

Nice looking carrots. I should decorate now but I'm trying to hold off till October. Not that I have very much but a little bit will still be fun for the kids.
I love this picture.
