Gary was watching Meet the Press this morning and they were discussing the presidential debate and the VP choices. One commentator asked another if they were comfortable with Sarah Palin being so close to the top of the Republican ticket. Daniel heard this and, from out of nowhere, says:
"I want Mitt Romney on the top of my ticket."
Come again? We don't discuss politics a lot around the boys. We usually talk about things like that after they have gone to bed. You would think we were huge Mitt Romney fans too (evidently Daniel is). Don't get me wrong, I would have voted for Romney, but we haven't discussed him in months. Just goes to show you how long a child's memory can be.
The family is doing well with the passing of Max. We were all sad, but okay with it. The boys have surprised us with their understanding. We told them Max went to live with Heavenly Father and they were okay with that. Every once in a while Daniel will say he misses Max, as we all do (even the cat who keeps looking for him), but he understands that Max is gone. Jack doesn't say much about it. We have had Gary's parents dog staying with us this week while they are in New York so I think that has made the transition easier for them.
I went to the General Relief Society meeting last night with Mom, Susan and Shelly. It was really good & we had good seats. I am so thankful to our RS president for going the extra mile and getting tickets for us all. I think my favorite talks was President Uchdorf's talk on happiness. I am excited to listen to conference next weekend.
Congratulations to my good friend Becky & her family. They welcomed a new son into the world on Friday. His name is Josiah Wayne & he is darling!
