Deal of the Day

I found a Kirby vacuum at DI for $10 today. I was almost shaking I was so excited. Why so excited? Well, a month or so ago we had a Kirby salesman come by the house and offer to clean a room for free. We agreed and were very impressed by the vacuum's power (and equally grossed out at how much dirt he got out of our carpet with it). We weren't about to spend $2000 on a vacuum though. Yes, you read that right, two thousand dollars! Now you see why I was so excited? It works too. Not as well as a brand new one would, but better than our old vacuum. I consider that $10 well spent.

We had a salesperson come to our house too and we almost bought it. We debated for an hour or so and decided not to get it even though we had talked them down to 1600.00 We have a reliable source that said it has great suction forever but that there was another vaccuum out there for cheaper and just as great. So we passed. Can't beat $10.00 though, what a bargain shopper you are!!!

I grew up using a a Kirby vacuum, and it was a beast! I think my mom still has it, though they generally use their central vacuum system. I don't have fond memories of lugging that beast up and down the stairs.

When I accidentally shattered the turbine by sucking up a penny, I was half-hoping she'd replace it, but no, she just had it repaired.

$10 is an unbeatable deal for one of these. Is it in good working order?

You can't beat a Kirby. My parents bought the Rainbow Kirby when I was in High School. That thing was such a mess to deal with because all the dirt went into a water chamber that had to be dumped everytime. It worked wonders, but I always had to deal with it.... Kirbys are great though!!
