If any of you follow me on Facebook, you might remember that we lost our stroller a few weeks back. It was just a $7 D.I. stroller, but it was better than the old umbrella one we bought when Dan was a babe (and that I have been using ever since). I have been searching for a new one with a few important features - lightweight, umbrella-type with a canopy and a storage basket under the seat. The one I found and liked is a $40 Evenflo XSport at Walmart. Today I stopped by the Sugarhouse D.I. to look and they had a few strollers. It has been hard to find strollers at the D.I. because of the CPSIA laws that were supposed to take effect at the beginning of the month, but have since been pushed back. So I headed towards them and found this beauty.
It is a Zooper Swing stroller. As far as I can tell (this model isn't made anymore) it retailed at around $160+! There was no price sticker on it, so I asked a worked who was nearby how much it was. He took a peek at the other strollers (one was marked $15) and told me I could have it for $10. Wahoo! I promptly put Evan in it, since there were no shopping carts, and we brought it home. Evan must like it. He cried when I brought him into the house and left it outside (just until I could set him down!). I have washed it down and sent the seat through the washing machine (it's removable and machine washable - how smart is that?!) It is missing the front bar, but that doesn't make a big difference to me as long as I can still buckle Evan in. I am working on trying to find a replacement bar.
I totally killed my thumb while putting the seat cover back on though. I was threading a strap through a tight spot with a butter knife (yeah I know it was dumb) and it slipped, bending my thumb nail back about an eighth of an inch into the nail bed. So now it is turning all sorts of shade of bark purple and black. It hurts so bad I can't even touch it without it going into sharp waves of pain. I am still excited about the stroller though - it was worth the pain (I think).
GD64: I am thankful when the boys nap. It is a good midday recharge for us all.

sweet find! bummer about the thumb though. :(
We have a stroller that we bought when Jayden was born. It's really old and scratched up but I love it. I use it over my new double stroller which I can't stand. Hope it works as good as you hope. and OW!!!!
Ow!!! That looks painful! Nice stroller. I wish I could find a cheap double stroller like that. We have a double jogger, but it's not a good style to take on trips. It takes up tons of space in the trunk, but we got it at kid-to-kid for a good price.
Awesome! That's a great find! I did the same thing to my nail yesterday putting Noah's carseat back in the car.
