Happy Birthday Sparky!

Jackson is now an official three year old! It is hard to believe it has been three years since he came pouting into this world. He has been such a joy in our lives. He is so full of energy and personality. He may be small, but he more than makes up for it in spunk!
Saturday was his actual birthday. I woke up feeling ill so Gary took Jack and Dan to the Primary activity. By them time they got back I was feeling somewhat better so Gary went to his parents' to finish their new laundry hookups and I ran an errand or two with the boys and took Dan and Jack to Charlie's birthday party. How's that for fun - going to someone else's birthday party on your birthday?Jack didn't seem to mind though. They had a ton of fun and I think Charlie really liked the re-usable coloring books we got him. When Gary got home we took the boys out to eat at El Habanero (a local Mexican joint). The boys call it Gaspachos and they love going there. When we got home we let Jack open a couple of gifts and he and Dan played until bed time. Dan had a really hard time with the fact that Jack got first dibs on playing with his new toys. Dan wanted to play with the dinosaur so bad - but we wouldn't let him take it away from Jack. It was a little traumatic for him, poor kid.Jack & his new dinosaur.
I set all our clocks ahead Saturday night for DST, but my alarm clock set itself ahead and so it woke us up two hours early instead of only one. Ugh! I have to remember to remember that it does that next time! After church the boys took naps and I made Jack's dinosaur cake. He has been so excited to get a dinosaur cake for his birthday. I think it turned out cute, especially considering it's first head fell off and I had to put on a different second head as a fix. Jacks actually let his new dinosaur have a taste too - by dropping it's head into the side of the cake! Luckily it was an easy fix. It took me a few minutes to realize the the dino's eyes were green and it wasn't frosting that wouldn't come off! LOLWe had a great time with all the family at the party. Jackson opened gifts in a fashion that I hadn't seen any of the boys do yet. He'd open one and as soon as it was open he'd reach for the next one, not even pausing to take a good look at what he had just opened! It was so funny. After they were all open he wanted to play with them all, of course (Daniel too), so we opened them all up and let them go at it. Evan loved the new ball Jack got from Granny & Opa, Daniel loves the new Leapster game and Jackson loves them all! They woke up this morning and played with all the new toys for a while before I got up (the time change gave me a migraine!). Jack can't wait to use his new sidewalk chalk. He got a box that should last the whole summer at least (52 pieces!). We had cake and ice cream after presents and I think everyone had a good visit. Thanks for coming everyone!Dan helping Jack open gifts.Waiting for cake. So patiently too! It's so good he eats it with both hands!
This was funny last night - Jack knows that tools fix things. Halfway through the party when his bandaid was coming off his arm, he went to his tool box, dumped it out, found the hammer and hammed his bandaid back on. We all got a good laugh out of that.

GD68: I'm thankful for Jackson. He is a little ray of sunshine (most of the time).

That cake turned out neat! Too bad Ethan's getting too old for a dino cake :). His birthday is coming up soon.

That's an awesome cake! Of course I will take your Tag Monsters to the boutique. Did you see Stephanie's shout-out to you on her blog (princessme.org)?
