Everyone who came (almost)
This past weekend we headed up to Bear Lake for the annual Price Family Reunion. It is a gathering of family from my maternal grandmother's side. We have counted over 500 direct descendants of the 13 siblings (that lived to adulthood) so far. Five of the thirteen siblings are still alive.

We had over 100 people in attendance. It was the largest group we have had in a while. We arrived Friday and camped out until Sunday.
Friday's weather was beautiful. We took the scenic route through Monte Cristo to get to the lake. The boys were so excited. Daniel kept exclaiming "Let's rock this baby!" After setting up our tent, and one for Mom and Dad, we took the boys down to the beach to play. Daniel still has no fear of cold water and he and Jack had a blast "swimming" until they both got knocked over by waves and had to be rescued by their Papa. That pretty much quelled their enthusiasm for being in the water. Evan wasn't sure of the water, especially when the waves lapped at his feet (he didn't like that at all), so he spent his time playing with the sand with our beach toys.
After our beach time we went to LaBeau's in Garden City for dinner & fresh raspberry shakes (Yum!) BY the time we got back to camp in Laketown, the wind had picked up and had blow Mom and Dad's tent away. Luckily, some family members caught it and put it behind the cabin so it wouldn't get away again. We decided to store it in the back of the car for the night since they wouldn't be arriving until Saturday. It was a very blustery and rainy night. I didn't sleep well - the wind kept waking me up. I was afraid our rain cover would blow off and then we would get rained on. It stayed on and kept us dry, but the rain sure did cool down the temperature. It made me glad we had taken the boys swimming on Friday because there was no way I was going to the beach in a swimsuit on Saturday.
Saturday was the big activity day. We had a pot luck lunch, complete with dutch oven beans, cobblers and homemade rootbeer and ice cream. Then came the traditional auction (to raise money for next year's reunion.)
I think Daniel's favorite activity was taking Oliver for walks. He even took someone elses dog for a walk when Oliver was unavailable. It was good exercise for him and the dog. He and Jack both loved the swing at the cabin. Jackson had a blast playing in the dirt, as did Evan.
There were quite a few young kids for them to play with. They all liked to play on the raised deck and the older kids had some pretty elaborate imaginary scenarios going. Another favorite activity on the deck was dumping sand over the railing.
My mom and I have been re-working the family cookbook and we brought the as-is version to the reunion. It was received well and we have orders for over 50 copies. I am hoping to have the project finished by Christmas.
We went to church in Laketown on Sunday, then packed up and came home. It was a great little trip and I am glad we went up. Thanks Mom and Dad for helping us get there!

What a fun time. Sorry I didn't catch your message about the perennial starts. I don't even know how to go about that anyway. What do you do...just break up the rootball? You'll have to let me know.
Such cute pictures!
