Romney Fan

Daniel is choosing political sides early in life. He saw Mitt Romney on TV tonight and says "Is that President Romney?" Apparently Daniel thinks Romney won the election.
A couple of years ago when the presidential campaign was in the primary phase Gary was watching a news program that was discussing the election. At that point Romney had been out of the campaign for a couple of months. The commentator asked (something like) "Is McCain who you want at the top of your ticket?" and Daniel says, without hesitation "I want Mitt Romney at the top of my ticket."
At least he is consistent.

Temple Square

Last Tuesday, July 14, we spent a few hours downtown with Keith and his family. They were in town to send Spencer off on his mission to Chile. We also got to see Skyler, recently returned from his mission to Italy. I am glad they got to spend some time together as brothers before Spencer left. They and their sisters are a very cute, very close group of siblings. I hope my kids are as close when they get to be teenagers. We spent a little time at Temple Square then headed over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to watch the Joseph Smith movie. It was a great, moving, movie. At the end, after the curtains had closed and the lights were still dim and the audience sitting in silence, Daniel piped up and said "That was a great movie." From the mouth of babes... even the littlest can feel the Spirit.
After the show we let the boys play in the fountain in te Church Office Building courtyard. They loved it. They were pretty well soaked by the time they were done (can you tell?).

Jackson's Legs

Jackson is so funny sometimes. Today he was putting on his socks and shoes and he lifted up his pants leg and says "Mama! My legs are white!" So I asked him what color he wanted them to be. His answer? "Red!"

From the Mouths of Boys

From Jackson:
Gary: "What are three year olds good for?"
Jack: "Free poop!"

From Daniel:
Me: "Why do you ask so many questions?"
Dan: "Because that's what four year olds do!"

GD115: I'm grateful for my kids - they are great entertainment!

Evan is not cute

On Friday the boys went into Salt Lake and had lunch with Gary. While we were still in the parking lot one of Gary's co-workers, Frank, walked by. Daniel likes to talk about Frank, so I asked Frank to tell Daniel "Hi." Frank opened the van door and told them all hello and kissed Evan on the head and said "Hi, cutie pie." From the back Jackson pipes up and says "He's not cutie pie. He's Evan!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This morning the boys came into my room all excited.
"Mom! The jaguars came!" What? "The jaguars came!" You mean the leprechauns? "Yeah!"
The leprechauns visited us last night and decorated the kitchen and left surprises for the boys. They left green bowler hats, St. Patrick's Day pencils, shiny green beads, leprechaun coins (the plastic and chocolate varieties), cupcakes and green milk. They loved the streamers, green foil shamrocks and green balloons that littered the kitchen. It was a fun morning! The boys had a blast popping all the balloons after school too. Thanks little leprechauns!
GD75: I'm grateful to have four seasons! I love them all for different reasons. I love winter because I love snow, Spring because I don't like the cold and I love to see things in bloom. I love Summer because it is warm and the days are long - I can watch my boys play without worrying about them getting cold. And Autumn because it means the Holidays are coming and the snow!
