This past weekend we had an awesome trip to Idaho to see Keith and Kathy and their family. We left Friday morning and drove up in a rental car. I tried to read on the way up and ended up giving myself a migraine that lasted until Saturday evening. Yuck! Luckily, we were on vacation and I could just try to sleep it off while Gary took the boys. Friday we had a picnic in Boise then came home and played Sequence with Keith and Kathy while the kiddos watched a movie.
Saturday, Kathy had to take Skyler to the hospital, so Keith took Gary , Dan and Jack out on their boat while I tried to sleep off the headache with Evan.
In the afternoon we relaxed, had a BBQ dinner and watched the BYU/Oklahoma game. Keith also let Gary and I take his Corvette out for a drive. Wow. That was awesome. Everything I'll ever drive from now on will pale in comparison to the power that had. Even the rental car (a Dodge Charger) was gutless after driving the 'Vette. Nothing like going 0-60 in less than five seconds.
That night Gary, Kathy and I stayed up until almost midnight playing Bananagrams. Good thing church wasn't until 1pm!
Sunday we went to church with Keith's family. Jack and Evan went to nursery just fine, but I had to sit through half of Primary with Daniel, who was sobbing by the time I dragged him into the Primary room. Thankfully he was fine by the time his class left for their lesson and I was at least able to make it to Relief Society. Thanks evening Granny, Opa and Eric stopped by one their way home from Washington. They had been to Gary's nephew Ryan's wedding. We had brownies with them and some of Kathy's family that also came over. After dessert we played Bananagrams some more while the boys jumped on the trampoline. Daniel managed to whack his head on the spring and came up with blood running down his face. He had a pretty good cut that I thought needed stitches. Kathy called a nurse in their ward and she said the ER was packed and not to go. So we then called the pediatrician in their ward and he told us how to do a "bandage suture" to close the cut. It worked and it has closed now. I'm still keeping it "sutured" for now, until I am comfortable just putting a bandaid on it. Hopefully it won't scar badly. He went right back to the trampoline after we bandaged him up, so it couldn't have been too traumatic.
We headed home on Monday. We stopped at Shoshone Falls on the way back. The boys really like water falls and these were pretty cool.
We made it back around 6pm, did a quick cleaning of the house and fell into bed. It really was a great weekend.
Today was the Open House for Jack's preschool. We took Dan to class, then went to Mrs. Payne's class. Just after we walked in another mom from the class came in with her 10 month old baby who was having a seizure and the teachers called 911 and the paramedics came and took them to the hospital. The lady's son is in Jack's class and her twin daughters are in Daniels class. I hope the baby is okay. She is such a cute, sweet little thing.
Other than the suprising start to the day, Jack did fine. He wasn't nearly as excited for his first day as Daniel was. Daniel was excited for Jack to go to preschool and was asking him all sorts of questions after school, like where was his cubby and what color he colored his person. So cute. I hope he has a good experience in school. He has a great teacher, so that is a good place to start.
I am starting to watch two other kids during the day this week. It will be a new adventure for me (and maybe test me out to see if I could handle having any more of my own.)
