The Climber Strikes Again

Dan figured out how to climb onto the dining room chair and get to things on the table tonight. This time he was after the silverware we had set out for dinner. He has this thing with silverware - loves it. He has been really fussy about eating this past week or so and today we figured out why - he wanted to feed himself with the silverware. This is just the latest stage in his eating evolution. First, it was wanting to eat when we ate. Then, it was wanting to eat what we ate, when we ate it. Now it's wanting to eat what we eat, when we eat it, with what we eat it with. I couldn't get him to eat anything tonight until I gave him his kids fork and some mashed potatoes on his highchair tray. Then he was happy. He hasn't figured out how to scoop things with the fork, but he was trying. He would dip the fork into the potatoes and get a tiny little bit on the fork, then stick it into his mouth. Eventually he ate with his hands. Such a silly kid.
