Gary has this thing he likes to do with our dog, Max. He will set something on Max's head and have him hold it there. Last night he was able to balance three blocks on Max's cooperative head. Pretty funny! He tried to do the same with Daniel, with no luck. I guess Daniel either has a rounder head than Max or is wigglier. My bet is on the wiggly.
Daniel is enjoying his dance class. He is starting to follow more of Miss Emily directions, and enjoys dancing with the streamers. He is still only one of two boys in the class. but he doesn't even notice. I do notice, however, that the boys are less likely to sit still than are the girls. Someone told me the other day it is because he has a full-grown spirit in that 3-foot body of his. I think I have to agree. His thoughts are becoming clearer as of late. He has been using the phrase "Look at me" more and more. His ability to put thoughts into coherent sentences in rapidly increasing. It is fun to watch & interact with him. He talks about himself in the third person, a trait that I am wondering if he picked up from Elmo? He is also beginning to play more with Jackson. That is good because Jackson has taken to following Dan around the house and constantly wants to be doing what he is doing.
Jackson is doing well. He is making a lot of noise. No true words, aside from "Mama" and the occasional "Papa," but he does try to communicate. I am beginning to teach him some sign language. I foresee some issues with the "hungry" sign though - instead of hitting his mouth with his hand, he just sticks his thumb in.
Susan and I took the boys to Idaho this weekend for the baptisms of her niece & nephew. No, they aren't twins but they are very close in age. They were so excited to be baptized. Daniel was excited too - he almost took a swim while watching the baptisms. Luckily my cousin Stephanie caught him before we went in. He was been talking about the baptisms ever since. It was nice to see some friends I haven't seen in a year or so too. Hopefully we can go back up Easter weekend for the blessing of my cousin Samberly's baby Samuel.
