I really like going to a thrift store and finding not only what you want, but things that you didn't know you wanted - all at amazing prices.
Since it first snowed back in October, I have been searching for snow boots for Daniel. Even though I bought them big last year, the boots from last winter just don't fit. I have been searching the Deseret Industries near our house and though I haven't been successful there in my boot hunt, I did find some other things. First, I got two pairs of pants (one was Osh Kosh) for Jack in excellent condition - $2 each. Then I found an Imaginext dinosaur for $1.50 (the kind I was thinking of getting Jack for Christmas.) Retail, it costs around $20. It doesn't have any of the accessories, but he doesn't know it had any, and the sound and movement work. Wonderful! I also found the Disney movie "The Black Cauldron" on VHS. I loved that movie when I was younger & they no longer put it out. Sure, I don't have VHS machine hooked up, but Shelly is going to transfer it to DVD for me. :) And let's not forget about the Kirby I scored for $10.
Today I went to a different D.I. and finally found boots for Daniel (and a $0.50 transformer). I also found another Kirby - this one about 10 years newer and only $15. Good deal! I love D.I.!

Wasn't Jack afraid of dinosaurs? Those are great deals! I'll have to look at DI for Ty.
Yes, we love thrift stores too... It's our secret hobby. :o) It's amazing what can be found there and how many people turn their noses up at it. I'm glad we have friends who enjoy the D.I. as much as we do! We managed to find pants there for Weezy for $2 and they are in perfect shape! I personally like looking through the vases... I am a vase horder. :o)
For the boring person that I am, I never seem to find time to make it over there. It would save me lots! I did find the most gorgeous girls blanket and clothes for literally nothing. I was so happy about that, I should do better. Thanks for the motivation!
