Home Storage Center

We are very lucky to have an LDS cannery very near our home. I went tonight with my Mom and we canned spaghetti and dehydrated onions. We actually ordered wheat, milk and potato flakes, but you can whatever the people in your group order. I try to sign up once a month to go and can some items for our food storage. That way we get a little at a time - it's better for the budget. They also rent their canning machines (for free!). I am planning on borrowing one here soon and canning some things we have bought in bulk and need to get into cans. If anyone wants to come over and can with me let me know. I will happily welcome the company. I'll need to know ahead of time how many cans you think you'll need though so I can buy them at the cannery when I pick up the machine.

GD26: I'm thankful that we are allowed to hoard food! In Germany we wouldn't be able to store a long term food supply. So I am grateful that we can.
GD27: I am thankful that we have a little bit of money to put towards our food storage so we can be prepared for the future and whatever may come.

That's funny. I actually just went to Macey's today and bought a lot of their awesome priced food storage things. Glad to know we're all thinking about it!

This is so important on my list! I have been purchasing things left and right in the name of food storage. It's nice to actually have a house large enough to store it. I think we are really close to the 3 months of food, but would love to have at least a full year.

I'm interested if your group isn't full yet. I don't know what or how much I'd want yet since space is limited here until we find a place again. Been too long since we talked, we need to catch up again!
