Catching up

Gary asked me the other day if I had stopped blogging. No, I told him, I just haven't felt like it lately. Let's be honest, have you all really even noticed? Now it is like there is so much to catch up on do I even want to try? I will do my best, though it might take a few posts. As I sit here though, nothing super important really comes to mind. I go through life these days with a dialogue in my head that frequently says "I should blog about this." But then, when I sit down to blog, it's gone. Pregnancy and childbirth can do that to you - it is a proven fact that pregnancy causes memory loss. So there you go, that is my official excuse (the PAST pregnancies, that is). I wonder if each pregnancy compounds the problem?
So obviously, my New Year's goal to write a little gratitude bit everyday has been thrown way off. I still think about it every day, does that count? I will try and be better. Get used to that phrase. I'm sure you'll be reading it a lot this year. I am not very good about New Year's Resolutions. Never have been and I make no excuses for it. I do have sort of an excuse for my lack of blogging. This last week I was busy making up a couple of dozen Tag Monsters for Emlyn's CPSIA Last Bash Boutique. It went well for me. There were only, like, 10 people that came, but I sold ten monsters so I did good! The funniest part was this grown woman who came with her teenage daughter and bought one for each of them. Not to give away - for them! I laughed inside. The remaining 14 monsters have been put up on the Frogpaw Handmade blog for sale. (Gotta get my schpil in.)
The boys have all have a cold this past week. Mostly it is a juicy cough with some boogery noses. It was enough that I kept them home from Primary & Nursery on Sunday and kept Daniel home from school Monday and Tuesday. It seems to be going around the neighborhood though. Speaking of school, Gary and I are trying to get Daniel into a nearby charter school for next year. It is Monticello Academy to be exact and we were very impressed with their program when we went to the orientation last week. All charter schools in the state are required to do admissions by lottery so we are keeping our fingers crossed. Dan's friend Charlie is also trying to get in (along with a million other kids I'm sure). They say kindergarten is the best level to try to get in though, and siblings are automatically admitted if there is room. So if we can get him in it would be good for all the boys. We should know by the end of March if he is in. In his pre-school class Daniel is being evaluated by an occupational therapist for his fine motor skills. He has had a hard time learning to grip his pencil and they think it is because he has weak hands. If they determine it is necessary he will have additional help at school to help him learn to hold his pencil to draw and write better.
Evan has been pulling himself up on everything. He loves to stand at the baby gate at the top of the basement stairs and throw things down them (Jackson taught him that). Frequently I find a couple dozen toys at the bottom of the stairs. He is crawling everywhere. He loves it when Jackson crawls around with him and Evan tries his best to play with his brothers. He loves to eat "real" food. Though he only has two teeth, he has managed to gum almost everything I give him (even pork shop!) I saw he only has two teeth but he has four (maybe more) that have been trying to come through for a while now. Three had broken the surface but I think they have gone back in. Stubborn! Both Jack and Daniel had a mouthful of teeth by this age. He is stubborn when it comes to sign language too. I have been trying to teach him a few sings to help him communicate. He knows what they mean when I do them, he just refuses to do them himself. *Sigh*
Okay, that's enough for now. I'll update more later.

GD42: I'm thankful for a home warranty. We have had some issues this week that it took care of. I will blog more about that on another day. It might be a bit of a vent post though!

Yeah she lives! Yes I noticed....I check everyday when I'm bored at work...or just getting in and don't want to start the day, just yet!
Evan stubborn? Hmmm...wonder where he gets THAT from? I hope all the boys are recovering from their colds.

Hugs!

LOL! Would you please clarify the first paragraph for us all... you mentioned pregnancy as a present situation... is this an announcement or a mis-reading?

I check your blog everyday too! Way to mess with my daily entertainment! That's awesome that your tag monsters are selling so well. Good luck with Dan's hand thing and I hope you are all feeling better soon!
