Crunch

Wednesday while I was sitting in my van, waiting for the tank to fill at the gas station, the man in the large truck next to me backed into the side of my van. His front bumper made a very large scrape and dent along the passenger side sliding door and rear panel - right where JakJak sits. The damage is only cosmetic, but it isn't pretty. I took it into the insurance adjuster and came home with a check to get it fixed. She also said to buy new car seats and bring her the receipt. Technically if your carseat has been in an accident it can have invisible flaws that may cause it to fail in an accident. I bought them last night and took her the receipt this morning. $700 worth of new carseats now adorn the van. Expensive! But, she did tell me to buy the same brands we have now, which include two Britax seats. They should last us a nice long time though! Glad the other drivers' insurance is paying for it and not mine.

GD120: I am grateful that we are protected out on the road. Heaven knows there are plenty of stupid drivers out there, or even responsible drivers that do stupid things.
